Ratoon decline is a soil problem dressed up as a variety problem. After the first harvest, the cane stool is cut, the field is trafficked by harvest machinery, and the root system has to regenerate in compacted, low organic matter soil with the trash either burnt or removed. Yield in the second and third ratoon commonly drops by 15 to 25 percent, and much of that drop tracks back to the state of the topsoil in the first six weeks after harvest.
This 3 to 5 millimetre granule is applied in the furrow or along the stool line immediately after harvest, before irrigation brings the ratoon back. The humate improves aggregate stability in the compacted inter-row, stimulates new root initiation, and holds potassium and nitrogen against the heavy rainfall that follows harvest in Thailand and the Philippines. Growers who apply it consistently report better tiller counts at 60 days, which is the number that determines the ratoon yield.

Apply 200 to 400 kg per hectare within two weeks of harvest, banded along the stool line or in the furrow, and irrigate to activate. On sandy soils the higher rate is recommended. Combine with the standard nitrogen and potassium dressing rather than replacing it; the humate improves the efficiency of that fertiliser but does not substitute for it. For plant cane, apply 200 kg per hectare at planting and again at the first earthing up.
Buyer Guide for Southeast AsiaSugar mills supplying growers with inputs, and plantation companies in Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia, are the usual buyers. Orders are typically 3 to 5 containers per season, scheduled to arrive before the harvest window. A 20ft container carries 25 tons in 25 kg bags. We can supply a per lot COA and a technical note on ratoon application timing that mills can distribute to their grower network.
Packaging & Quality AssurancePacking is 25 kg PP woven bag with PE liner, 1 ton jumbo bag, or 500 kg sling bag for mill stores. Granules are screened twice and tested for hardness, size, moisture and pH on each batch, with retained samples kept 24 months. Production runs under ISO 9001 procedures and shipments include COA and MSDS.
