Yellowing between the veins on older coconut fronds, or on banana leaves from the third leaf down, is usually magnesium, not nitrogen. On the acid sandy soils of Quezon, Leyte and the Mekong Delta, magnesium is the first cation to disappear after years of potassium heavy fertiliser programmes, because K and Mg compete for the same exchange sites and the palm takes potassium preferentially.
This granule delivers three percent MgO with a 60 percent humate carrier, applied in the plant basin rather than broadcast, because the feeding roots of coconut and banana sit in a ring under the canopy. The humate raises exchange capacity in that ring and slows the loss of magnesium during the wet season, which is why the visible response typically holds for two to three months rather than washing out after one heavy rain.

Coconut and areca: 200 to 250 g per palm per application, three times a year, in the basin at 1 to 1.5 metres from the trunk. Banana: 100 to 150 g per mat at planting and every three months. Coffee and cocoa: 100 to 150 g per tree per round. Apply when the soil is moist, then cover with mulch. Do not place the granule directly against the stem, and do not mix with high potassium compound fertiliser in the same pocket, because the two cations compete for uptake.
Buyer Guide for Southeast AsiaPlantation supply buyers in the Philippines and Vietnam normally order one mixed container per quarter, with the magnesium grade for palms and a straight humate for the intercrop. A 20ft container carries 25 tons in 25 kg bags. We supply a magnesium assay per lot and a one page application guide with photographs of the deficiency symptoms, which distributors hand to growers and which reduces support calls significantly.
Packaging & Quality AssurancePacking is 25 kg PP woven bag with PE liner, 5 kg estate pack, or 1 ton jumbo bag. Magnesium is assayed by ICP per batch and moisture is held at 14 percent maximum so the granules stay free flowing in humid stores. Retained samples are kept for 24 months under ISO 9001 production control.
