||
Boron deficiency in oil palm shows up as a specific set of symptoms that estate managers learn to recognise quickly: hooked or crinkled fronds on young palms, little leaf, and in severe cases a bunch that fails to fill. The cause is usually not a lack of boron in the soil but a lack of available boron, because B is highly leachable on sandy and peat soils and the annual rainfall in Sumatra and Kalimantan removes it faster than the palm can take it up.
This granule combines one percent boron with a 65 percent humate carrier. The humate holds the borate against leaching and improves root contact, which is why the same kilo of B delivered in this form lasts longer than a straight borax top dressing. Estates that switch typically move from three or four boron applications a year to two, applied with the normal fertiliser rounds.

Apply 100 to 200 kg per hectare per year for mature oil palm, split into two rounds, broadcast in the weeding circle and lightly incorporated. For palms showing hooking symptoms, 150 g per palm per round for two rounds is the usual correction, then return to the maintenance rate. The grade also suits coconut and areca in the Philippines, and boron sensitive vegetables at 50 to 80 kg per hectare, where the slow release reduces the risk of the narrow margin between deficiency and toxicity.
Buyer Guide for Southeast AsiaEstate buyers usually order this together with a straight humate granule, so we can ship mixed containers and label each bag by product code to avoid confusion in the store. A 20ft container carries 24 to 25 tons. We supply a boron assay and a homogeneity check result per lot, because uneven B distribution in a granule is the main quality failure mode in this product category.
Packaging & Quality AssurancePacking is 25 kg PP woven bag with PE liner, 500 kg sling bag for estate stores, or 1 ton jumbo bag. Boron is assayed by ICP on each batch, and granule homogeneity is checked by sampling six points across the batch. Retained samples are kept for 24 months and production follows ISO 9001 procedures.
